Why Did Filming Switch To Canada Instead Of Oregon?

Oregon business.com has an article that answers the question of why filming switched to Vancouver B.C. from Oregon. It also confirms that New Moon will be filming in Italy, "Producer Summit Entertainment will relocate to Vancouver, British Columbia, and Italy, VP of publicity Vivian Mayer confirmed through an assistant."

As for why the "Twilight" sequel "New Moon" isn't filming in Oregon the following reasons were given:

* Filmmakers were partly concerned that Oregon wouldn’t have the production resources to support two Twilight sequels being made back-to-back.

*The lower Canadian dollar also made filming in British Columbia cheaper.

* When The Untitled Crowley Project starring Harrison Ford and Brendan Frasier committed to film in Oregon, it ate up the state’s film resources and crews. The Crowley project begins filming in April.

Although they are disappointed not to have the next 2 Twilight Saga films shooting in Oregon, the state continues to see tourism from Twilighters wanting to visit the area where Twilight was filmed.
