The Reading Eagle reports that M Night Shyamalan has begun filming "The Last Airbender" today in Reading, Pa, just west of his hometown of Philadelphia. The cast and crew have just returned from filming in Greenland.
Certainly early Thursday atop Mount Penn, the setting was perfectly suited for the Shyamalan films we have come to know, pictures such as "The Sixth Sense, "Unbreakable," "The Village" and "Signs." Mid-morning fog snaked across the cleared grounds below the parking observatory, partially obscuring what was meant to represent the rocky remains of a village destroyed by the evil Fire nation. The fog swirled around the Pagoda, clutching at its golden gargoyles, conjuring an eerie sense of dread and melancholy.
There is no word on whether or not Jackson is onset today as he is going between filming of "The Last Airbender" and "New Moon". Jackson plays the character of Sokka, pictured above.
(Yes, I am Google Mapping as we speak)
