The Examiner's Amanda Bell, aka The Twilight Examiner, has a fabulous recap on where we are with the New moon casting. She reminds us who has already been cast, who would like to be cast, what roles still need to be filled , and examines the casting choice of Michael Sheen as Aro:
With the addition of the likes of Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen, we can definitely surmise that we are no longer dealing with low expectations from Summit Entertainment, or a low budget for that matter. Perhaps, rightly, we can put to bed our concerns over the accuracy of the book-to-film translation (as, we saw, most of them stemmed from worry that the studio would underestimate our staying power as Twilight fans). Though some fans have shown disappointment with the look of Jamie Campbell-Bower (see here) for Caius, perhaps the casting folks on the project got it right with this one. After all, Michael Sheen, a forty year old man, is clearly not a kid (which was one of the major complaints over the choice of Campbell-Bower).

According to the Daily Mail, Michael Sheen has been cast as Aro:
He has immortalised Tony Blair, David Frost and, most recently, legendary football manager Brian Clough on the big screen.
Now actor Michael Sheen is set to return to the realm of the firmly fictional after agreeing to play a vampire in the sequel to the blockbuster film Twilight.
Sheen, 40, who made his name with uncannily realistic portrayals of well-known figures in Oscar-winning films The Queen, Frost/Nixon and The Damned United, will get his biggest pay cheque yet, a reported £5million, to star in New Moon. But he will be hoping the movie brings him better luck than his first foray into the vampire genre, the 2003 movie Underworld, starring Kate Beckinsale, with whom he has a daughter.
In New Moon, Sheen will play Aro, the leader of an Italian vampire clan called the Volturi.
Director Chris Weitz confirmed Sheen’s casting to The Mail on Sunday and said he had 'aggressively' pursued the actor.
'Michael's role is so important because he's the head of all vampires,' he said. 'Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat.'
So what does everyone think? Let us know.

And the big event for today was the first viewing (at this festival) of the new Robert Pattinson film "How to Be." Billed as a comedy, it was a bit hurtful to watch. It was full of teenaged angst and with every corner that Pattinson's character Arthur turned his worse fears were always confirmed. After reading some of a self-help book by a Canadian psychologist , Arthur pays for the Dr. to come to live with him and teach him "How to be." Robert Pattinson (Harry Potter, Twilight) is an excellent actor and will be a huge star for years to come. I don't think this movie will add too much to his fame, but it was an interesting study in humanity, sometimes at it's worst.
CBA has an awesome How To Be review by made of awesome Kathy Davis in our CBA forum HERE. Check it out! It does contain spoilers so beware.
That's right, our beloved Dr. Cullen a.k.a. Peter Facinelli would love to play Dr. Who. Dr. Who is a popular BBC One Show.
Peter said: "I wish we had Doctor Who in America.
"Everyone in UK was raving about it when I came over for the conference. I’d love to watch it. Or even star as the Doctor in a film. I could even get a long stripy scarf!"
He seems to have a thing for playing doctor! (which is fine with me!!)

The Vancouver Sun has an article addressing the amount of fans that have migrated to the sets of New Moon. While the producers have been trying to keep the set locations rather hush-hush, it appears the huge fan base has other ideas.
Before a two-day shoot inside Pacific Rim National Park Reserve even began on March 20, the Summit Entertainment release was shrouded in such secrecy it was code-named the Untitled Sports Movie.
As desperate as such measures might seem, the saga's huge, obsessive base of "Twi-hards" have made it unavoidable.
"To preserve the content of the material you're trying to capture, with such a large fan base who know the nuances of the books so well, you have to go over-and-above ordinary means of protection," co-producer Bill Bannerman explained.
"It's to give the director and the group the space they need to work," he said, adding the fan fervour is understandable.Read the whole article here
"It was a lot of fun rejoining with the cast - it was like we hadn't even missed a day. It's really interesting because it's always been like a family."
He even gave a little teaser of inside information on the new contacts that the actors will be using in New Moon, saying that the color will "pop" a little more than the golden contacts that were used in Twilight.
Jackson was there. His hair must be up in some kind of pony tail.
